If you sell it yourself, you can make more of the profits on each book and in turn you can sell fewer books to break even. I can’t tell you how many amazing artists I’ve talked to that have been published through big comic publishers who have never seen a penny for their books. One person I know said he sold over 10,000 copies and never saw a dime. I’m not saying that these comic publishers are bad but I AM saying that it’s someone else’s business. The publisher makes money first and then the creator makes money second. If you become the publisher then you make the money first.
