Telecoms Minister Nicolas Sehnaoui said Monday that BlackBerry subscribers could experience delays in services, as Research in Motion Ltd says it is investigating an unidentified issue affecting Blackberry services in the Middle East, Africa and Europe.

“BlackBerry subscribers may experience delays in sending or receiving messages, or using other services such as Internet browsing, instant messaging or receiving push notifications (News, Facebook, Twitter),” Sehnaoui said on his Twitter account Monday.

He added that the problem was from RIM and would keep users updated for any new developments regarding the issue.

However, BlackBerry did not elaborate further on the issue, but telephone companies whose customers use the company’s smartphones said they have witnessed problems with Internet access and BlackBerry’s popular messenger service.
