AMY GOODMAN: Talk about what an alternative is. In the corporate media, the response is always, “What are we supposed to do? Nothing?” as if diplomacy is doing nothing. But talk about what you think would be an approach for your country, for Iraq, and for Syria, as well.
#SINAN_ANTOON: Well, I don’t know, because, I mean, for whom—this would assume that those in power have good intentions in regards to Iraq and Syria. But I would say that a true regional conference that brings in all the states that are involved and that have influence on the ground—Syria, Turkey, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Qatar—and basically a revision of all of these—a revising and a reconsideration of all of these policies, because obviously they will only produce more of the same.
