Tencent Holding Ltd (0700.HK) has for years invested in hundreds of up-and-coming businesses, mainly in the onshore market. It has typically acquired minority stakes and stayed invested as a passive financial investor.

However, it is now aggressively seeking to own majority or even controlling stakes in overseas targets, notably in gaming assets in Europe, the four people with direct knowledge of the matter told Reuters.

The shift comes as the world’s number one gaming firm by revenue is counting on global markets for its future growth, which requires a strong portfolio of chart-topping games, the sources aid.

Un arbitre leur a intimé l’ordre de quitter immédiatement le dohyo, via un message proféré à plusieurs reprises par haut-parleur. Selon des témoins cités par les médias locaux, des responsables ont jeté ensuite de grandes quantités de sel sur l’anneau de combat, apparemment afin de « re-purifier » le sol foulé par la gent féminine.

Mongolian professional sumo wrestler yokozuna (grand champion) Hakuho M.Davaajargal won Takayasu at the 13th day of Nagoya Basho (July grand sumo tournament) last Friday and broke the record for most career wins, with his 1,048th victory.

Hakuho M.Davaajargal, 32, surpassed former sumo wrestler ozeki Kaio’s record of
1,047 wins.

After claiming his 1,048th win, Hakuho said, “I’m glad that I was able to show this victory to the fans. If you put something into words, then it can come true. But you can also say my practice before this tournament and my physical condition led to this result.”

The Mongolian yokozuna started his sumo career at age 16, and made his debut in 2001.

There were rumors about Hakuho M.Davaajargal becoming a Japanese citizen to stay in the sumo world after he retires from the sport as the Japan Sumo Association doesn’t
allow foreign nationals to become a stable master (oyakata).
