PHP IDE : : JetBrains PhpStorm

Après quelques mois d’utilisation, je me vois bien obligé de reconnaître que PHPStorm, c’est un peu de la bombe de balle.

J’étais relativement satisfait de NetBeans :

mais ce dernier faisait tourner le ventilateur de mon ordinateur portable à fond, en permanence.

En fait, NetBeans utilisait 100 % de CPU en permanence, qu’il soit au premier plan ou non, que je l’utilise ou non, quelles que soient les options utilisées. Le jour où j’ai remarqué que j’hésitais à lancer NetBeans pour ne pas avoir à en subir les conséquences sonores, je me suis dit qu’il était temps de changer. Mine de rien, le confort sonore, c’est important, et un ventilo de portable qui tourne, même discrètement, est un son très agaçant, lorsqu’entendu en boucle toute la journée, jour après jour.

PhpStorm utilise entre 3 et 25 % de CPU pour ce que j’ai pu voir, le ventilo reste calme la plupart du temps.

Bon, je n’ai pas fait le tour de toutes ses fonctions, loin de là, mais PhpStorm comporte des fonctionnalités très intéressantes, surtout au niveau de l’éditeur texte. C’était en fait la première chose qui m’a fait chercher un autre IDE, avec NetBeans : l’auto-completion étonnante à laquelle, malgré des efforts, je n’ai pas su me faire. PhpStorm dispose d’une aide en ligne code en cours de frappe plus ergonomique, et une méthode de remplissage automatique de code en cours de frappe plus intuitive.

(Par le passé, j’avais essayé, puis abandonné Zend Studio, trop lourd et lent ; PDT pour Eclipse, trop lourd ; Aptana, pas assez ergonomique ; Coda, trop limité, notamment de par l’impossibilité de déboguer.)

Enfin, de tous les IDE, c’est Visual Studio de Microsoft qui me manque. Mais bon, d’une part, j’ai abandonné le C++ au profit du PHP ; d’autre part, j’ai abandonné Windows au profit du Mac. Difficile de revenir à Visual Studio dans ces conditions...

Au fait ! Et vous, quel IDE recommandez-vous pour du développement PHP de projets de taille moyenne ?
