The Iraqi government announced on Monday that it was beginning a major military operation to retake Anbar Province from the Islamic State. While Iraqi forces have been fighting to cut off a supply route, ISIS attacked an Iraqi-held town in an apparent effort to pull Iraqi forces from #Falluja.

Recent developments:1 ISIS militants captured the Mosul Dam.2 U.S. planes dropped food and water on Mount Sinjar, where as many as 40,000 Iraqis were stranded after death threats from ISIS.3 Bombings reported late Thursday were said to target ISIS fighters who had seized Gwer and Mahmour.4 Militants stormed Arsal, a town near the border in Lebanon.
