Migrants et réfugiés sont toujours plus nombreux à arriver en Roumanie. Une nouvelle voie d’accès à l’Union européenne pourrait même se mettre en place, depuis les ports turcs de la Mer noire jusqu’aux côtes roumaines. Pour l’instant, la plupart des interpellations de migrants se concentrent néanmoins dans le nord-est du pays, près des frontières serbes.

Roumanie : un bateau avec 87 migrants intercepté en mer Noire
Un bateau de pêche transportant 87 migrants a été intercepté dimanche en mer Noire, près de la côte roumaine, troisième incident de ce type depuis la mi-août. Observé au large, à 14 milles marins du littoral roumain, le bateau n’a pas répondu aux avertissements de la police qui a envoyé deux embarcations pour l’escorter jusqu’au port de Midia. À son bord se trouvaient 48 hommes, 16 femmes et 23 enfants. Des démarches pour établir leur nationalité et l’origine du bateau sont en cours.

Roumanie: plus de 200 migrants interceptés en mer Noire
La Garde côtière roumaine a intercepté en mer Noire deux bateaux transportant plus de 200 migrants, l’un ayant été escorté jusqu’au port roumain de Mangalia (sud-est) et l’autre pris en charge par les autorités turques, a annoncé samedi la police aux frontières.
Le bateau de pêche saisi par la garde côtière roumaine a été observé samedi matin à un mille marin de la frontière maritime roumano-bulgare et du littoral bulgare. Il avait à bord 97 personnes occupant « tous les ponts » de l’embarcation : 40 hommes, 21 femmes et 36 enfants. Ils « ont déclaré être des ressortissants iraniens et irakiens », a précisé la police.
C’est le quatrième bateau transportant des migrants saisi par les autorités roumaines en mer Noir depuis la mi-août.

Boats carrying more than 200 refugees were stopped by the Romanian Coastguard on Saturday, according to reports in Austrian and Romanian publications. According to those, a boat with 97 asylum seekers, including 36 children, who said they were Iranian and Iraqi, was located close to the Bulgarian border, in Romanian waters.

Romania: increasing number of sea arrivals – collective expulsions at land border
The report, written by Felicia Nica with support from the Jesuit Refugee Service Romania, documents emerging obstacles to access to the territory in the course of 2017, with a total of 1,386 cases considered as collective expulsions reported on the Serbian border from April to December 2017. At the same time, Romania has witnessed an increase in sea arrivals through the Black Sea in the second half of the year. Following high numbers of arrivals, the number of asylum seekers applying for protection in Romania has more than doubled from 1,880 in 2016 to 4,820 in 2017. The vast majority of applicants originated from Iraq, followed by nationals of Syria, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
