From 16-20 September, Thai officials and EU representatives met in Chiang Mai, Thailand, for a second round of negotiations regarding the Thai-EU Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) on trade and investment, which are due to be finalised within just 18 months.
Alarmed by the negative impacts that these trade agreements could have on access to medicines and agriculture benefit-sharing, over 5,000 protesters from health, consumer and farming networks rallied in Chiang Mai to voice their concerns.
