  • Evacuate or else: ’Israel’s’ ’thoughtful’ tactics in Lebanon and Gaza | Al Mayadeen English
    https://english.almayadeen.net/news/politics/evacuate-or-else---israel-s---thoughtful--tactics-in-lebanon

For over a week, the people of Lebanon have been living in constant fear, glued to their phones each night, awaiting the latest evacuation orders from the Israeli occupation forces’ Arabic spokesperson, Avichay Adraee. Not because they’re avid followers of his statements, but because these announcements determine if their homes will be bombed that night. This indiscriminate ritual has turned into a nightly horror, where civilians anxiously scroll through social media, hoping that their house isn’t the next target.

The Israeli military has issued countless evacuation orders across Lebanon, sometimes up to six in a mere two hours. At times, these warnings specify exact locations, but increasingly, they include vague maps covering entire neighborhoods—essentially marking entire civilian areas for indiscriminate bombardment. “Israel” often claims that Hezbollah operates in these zones, but the victims of these strikes are predominantly civilians with no safe place to go, or those who have chosen not to abandon their homes.
Two dozen villages forced to flee

On October 2nd, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) ordered civilians in two dozen villages in southern Lebanon to evacuate immediately, citing Hezbollah’s activities in the area.

“Hezbollah’s activity forces the IDF to act against it. The IDF does not wish to harm you,” Avichay Adraee announced via X. “For your safety, you must evacuate your homes immediately. Anyone near Hezbollah operatives, their facilities, or their weapons puts themselves at risk.”

These orders are typically posted on social media platforms, platforms to which many civilians—especially those without reliable internet connection—may not even have access. Furthermore, the time given for evacuation is alarmingly short, often only 30 minutes or less. In a blatant display of disregard for human life, the Israeli military expects entire villages to evacuate with little to no time to prepare, while offering no assurance of safety in the areas they flee to.

On October 2nd, the Israeli military issued seven evacuation orders within a span of 90 minutes. Some of these orders were for the same area, demonstrating not only chaos but also the careless repetition of warnings as a form of psychological warfare.

Can we trust ’Israel’s’ evacuation orders?

The short answer: Absolutely not. The Israeli military has a history of misleading civilians with evacuation orders, striking areas far beyond those specified. This has been evident in Beirut’s Southern Suburb, where on Thursday, October 5th, the IOF issued an evacuation order for the Southern Suburb of Beirut but ended up striking central Beirut, targeting a health center in Bachoura—an area not included in the warnings. A heath facility was struck in the attack, and seven health personnel from the Islamic Health Association were killed.

This isn’t a one-off incident. In Gaza, the Israeli military has been using similar tactics during its ongoing genocide. Back in October 2023, “Israel” announced certain areas as “safe zones” and urged civilians to relocate there. But once Palestinians moved to these designated zones, “Israel” still bombed them. The UN reported in July 2024 that only about an eighth of Gaza was not under Israeli evacuation orders, turning Gaza into a death trap for those trying to seek safety. The so-called “safe zones” of al-Mawasi and Khan Younis became killing fields, with Israeli forces bombing these areas over 10 times and massacring civilians who were lured there under false pretenses.

Moreover, the Israeli military demonstrated its brutality by ordering Palestinians in Gaza to evacuate via social media back in October 2023, during a complete blackout, issuing the instructions in English to an Arabic-speaking population.
    Ethnic cleansing tactics

Let’s be clear; “Israel’s” evacuation orders are not about protecting civilians. These are ethnic cleansing tactics, plain and simple. They provide a thin cover for legality, a pretext to shift the blame onto the civilians for staying behind, while “Israel” clears out entire populations and levels neighborhoods.

International law is unequivocal about this: Targeting civilians and failing to distinguish between military and civilian areas are war crimes. “Israel’s” actions—bombing densely populated areas after issuing insincere evacuation orders with little notice—constitute blatant violations of these laws.

Moreover, civilians must have sufficient time to evacuate, something “Israel” routinely ignores. In Lebanon, people are left scrambling to find transportation, with nowhere truly safe to escape to. The entire country is under threat, and every night brings the horrifying possibility of another round of airstrikes, with evacuation orders serving as little more than psychological warfare.
    The reality of Israeli ’warnings’

The evacuation orders issued by “Israel” are a cruel joke, designed more to justify destruction than to protect civilians. The real goal is not evacuation; it is depopulation. By forcing civilians out of their homes and then bombing indiscriminately, “Israel” is systematically emptying areas it deems “problematic.”

In Lebanon and Gaza, these tactics are destroying entire communities, displacing families, and creating generations of trauma. The Israeli government may claim they’re acting in “self-defense”, but their actions tell a different story, that of deliberate ethnic cleansing and mass punishment.

Ultimately, the evacuation orders serve not as humanitarian gestures but as weapons, and “Israel” is wielding them to their fullest extent, with people in Lebanon and Gaza standing steadfast in their land, refusing to be uprooted by empty threats that surround them.

The Israeli army hacked into the control tower of Beirut’s Rafic Hariri International Airport, issuing threats against an Iranian civilian aircraft attempting to land, according to official sources.

Following these threats, the Lebanese Ministry of Transport instructed airport authorities to prevent the Iranian plane from entering Lebanese airspace. Sources from the ministry told Anadolu that this directive was issued amid the Israeli army’s aggressive stance.

It is worth noting that “Israel” issued no comments regarding these reports. Earlier, Israeli army spokesperson Daniel Hagari stated, “We will not allow any weapons to be transferred to Hezbollah,” specifically mentioning that this includes transfers “through Beirut International Airport.”

  • Yemeni forces target, strike 3 US Navy destroyers in Red Sea overnight | Al Mayadeen English
    https://english.almayadeen.net/news/politics/yemeni-forces-target--strike-3-us-navy-destroyers-in-red-sea

The Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) targeted and hit three United States Navy destroyers in the Red Sea, which were sailing toward occupied Palestine to support the Israeli regime, the spokesperson for the YAF, Brigadier General Yahya Saree announced on Friday.

Saree read out the statement during a million-man march in the al-Sabeen Square in the capital Sanaa, announcing the second set of top-tier operations conducted by the YAF.
    Striking Tel Aviv, Aaskalan

He said the attack on the three American destroyers came in parallel with the Yemeni military’s long-range missile and drone attack on Israeli targets. At around 12:40 am (local time), sirens sounded across several districts in Tel Aviv, the heart of the Israeli regime.

Earlier, Saree announced that Yemeni forces fired the medium-range hypersonic ballistic missile, Palestine-2, at a target in Tel Aviv. The Yemeni Unmanned Air Force also fired a long-range Yafa-type one-way attack drone at a vital Israeli target in occupied Aaskalan to the south of Tel Aviv, in occupied Palestine.

Saree said the attack on US Navy assets came in support of the Resistance fighters and the people of Gaza and Lebanon, as well as in response to the American-British aggression on Yemen.

In total, 23 ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and one-way attack drones were fired at the naval formation. The YAF’s Navy, Unammaned Air Force, and Rocket Force participated in the attack.

The spokesperson said that this is the most expansive Naval operation conducted by the Yemeni Armed Forces during “The Promised Victory Battle and Sacred Jihad, in support of the Al-Aqsa Flood and in response to the aggression.”

19.9.2024 - The Palestinian Health Ministry said Wednesday Dr. Ziad Mohammed al-Dalou, who was abducted by Israeli forces during its March raid on Gaza’s Al-Shifa Hospital, has died in an Israeli jail. He’s the third doctor to die in Israeli custody since October 7 and one of at least 60 Palestinians who’ve since perished in Israeli prisons, which are rife with abuse and torture.

    https://www.7sur7.be/monde/des-centaines-de-membres-du-hezbollah-blesses-par-lexplosion-de-leur-bipeur-se

Preliminary reports indicate that hundreds of Lebanese citizens were injured after their portable pager communication devices detonated on Tuesday.

The cyber attack managed to hack the devices, with reports of injuries spreading across several villages in the Lebanese South, Bekaa, and Beirut’s southern suburb.

Lebanese security forces confirmed that specific types of wireless devices were targeted, with several sources alleging that an Israeli breach caused the devices to go off and subsequently explode.

The LSF urged civilians to clear the roads for ambulances to ensure the timely and safe transportation of casualties.

We have some more comments from military analyst Elijah Magnier on the simultaneous pager explosions in different parts of Lebanon.

This is a very sophisticated attack and normally, at this scale, it requires the collaboration of more than one entities.
If the Israeli intelligence managed to compromise the pagers that have been supplied to Hezbollah, this [does not exclude] that they have managed to access the supply by Iran, because Iran supplies Hezbollah in most of its equipment.
An operation of this scale needs the presence of high explosives, even in small quantity, and an awful long time to sit one every single pager and manually implement one to three grams of highly explosive material and yet conserve the functionality of the pager, the screen and all the electronics without all of this being affected.
That requires the work of more than one intelligence services and the break of the channel of supply.
That can also indicate that there is an explosive, because batteries don’t explode on their own in Beirut, in Bekaa Valley, in the south of Lebanon and in Syria and everywhere there is a pager at the same instant.
This is not something related to the malfunction of the pager but it is something that is implemented in it and exploded by a frequency, most likely a radio frequency.
In this case, we understand that the Israeli intelligence have placed this explosive with the support of a third country before they reached Hezbollah
This means that they have not only taken their time but they sat on this supply for a long time before it reached its final destination and
most probably the Iranians will be now examining all their products and equipment to make sure that nobody has tampered in what they have acquired.

Luk responded, “[The argument] did not age well,” indicating that the prime minister had ordered the attack.

Israel’s unprecedented and highly sophisticated security operation today in which almost 3000 people have been injured so far, is by all means a massive blow to Hizbullah. This is all more so the case given that Hizbullah has always credited its performance in the July War, in part, to its primitive telecom network which relied on pagers and a fiber optic “internal” line. By neutralising Israel’s technological superiority with “simplicity”, to borrow Nasrallah’s terms, Hizbullah prevented Israel from disrupting its command and control system. 1/

Today’s attack effectively negates this advantage. The question is: why did Israel choose to prematurely play this card outside the context of all-out war, where a disruption of this magnitude could have changed the course of the war. Israel surely knows that Hizbullah will now review and amend its entire communication protocols, which suggests that Israel has other aims which could well fall short of full war. 2/

The operation appears to have been designed as a major spectacle potentially serving dual purposes: to demoralise Hizbullah’s cadres and instil uncertainty while acting as a coercive deterrent aimed at altering their force positioning along the border. 3/

Israel appears to have developed a unique military-security paradigm in its war on Lebanon: its daily assassination campaign via drone warfare blurs the line between prolonged security measures and traditional warfare. Today’s attack consolidates this novel paradigm which acts more as a substitute for all-out conventional war. At least for the time being. 4/

Israel’s massive terrorist attack in Lebanon today, using mobile devices as weapons, besides opening a dangerous new chapter in global terrorism, and likely provoking a wider war in the region, also constitutes a grave breach of humanitarian law & a gross violation of human rights. The perpetrators must be held to account.

It also violates the human rights law prohibition of extrajudicial executions and the IHL prohibition of booby-traps designed to look like harmless portable objects or like something likely to attract civilians. And it violates the IHL requirements of distinction, proportionality, and precaution, as well as the prohibition on targeting civilians, in some of the cases.

BEIRUT (AP) — Walkie-talkies and solar equipment exploded in Beirut and multiple parts of Lebanon on Wednesday in an apparent second wave of attacks targeting electronic devices a day after hundreds of pagers used by Hezbollah blew up, state media and Hezbollah officials said. At least nine people were killed and more than 300 people wounded in the second wave, the Health Ministry said.

“Customary international humanitarian law prohibits the use of booby traps – objects that civilians are likely to be attracted to or are associated with normal civilian daily use – precisely to avoid putting civilians at grave risk and produce the devastating scenes that continue to unfold across Lebanon today. The use of an explosive device whose exact location could not be reliably known would be unlawfully indiscriminate, using a means of attack that could not be directed at a specific military target and as a result would strike military targets and civilians without distinction. A prompt and impartial investigation into the attacks should be urgently conducted.”

      https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2024/sep/18/the-guardian-view-on-israels-booby-trap-war-and-unacceptable

In the second world war, guerrilla forces scattered large quantities of booby-trapped objects likely to be attractive to civilians. The idea was to cause widescale and indiscriminate death. The Japanese manufactured a tobacco pipe with a charge detonated by a spring-loaded striker. The Italians produced a headset that blew up when it was plugged in. More than half a century later, a global treaty came into force which “prohibited in all circumstances to use booby-traps or other devices in the form of apparently harmless portable objects that are specifically designed and constructed to contain explosive material”. Has anyone told Israel and its jubilant supporters that, as Brian Finucane of the International Crisis Group points out, it is a signatory to the protocol?

      https://www.ohchr.org/en/press-releases/2024/09/exploding-pagers-and-radios-terrifying-violation-international-law-say-un

“To the extent that international humanitarian law applies, at the time of the attacks there was no way of knowing who possessed each device and who was nearby,” the experts said. “Simultaneous attacks by thousands of devices would inevitably violate humanitarian law, by failing to verify each target, and distinguish between protected civilians and those who could potentially be attacked for taking a direct part in hostilities.

“Such attacks could constitute war crimes of murder, attacking civilians, and launching indiscriminate attacks, in addition to violating the right to life,” the experts said.

Humanitarian law additionally prohibits the use of booby-traps disguised as apparently harmless portable objects where specifically designed and constructed with explosives – and this could include a modified civilian pager, the experts said. A booby-trap is a device designed to kill or injure, that functions unexpectedly when a person performs an apparently safe act, such as answering a pager.

“It is also a war crime to commit violence intended to spread terror among civilians, including to intimidate or deter them from supporting an adversary,” the experts warned. “A climate of fear now pervades everyday life in Lebanon,” they said.

European security sources have reported to Al Mayadeen that the recent strikes by the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon - Hezbollah that targeted the Glilot base, associated with ’Israel’s’ Unit 8200, and the Ein Shemer airbase have been substantially successful.

According to the sources, the attack, dubbed Operation Arbaeen, has resulted in significant casualties within the Israeli intelligence unit, with fatalities reaching 22 and 74 members reported injured.

The operation was launched in response to the assassination of martyred Commander Fouad Shokor, as confirmed by Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah on August 25.

A metal rod pierced the body of Israeli occupation Colonel Golan Vach, the Israeli officer who gained international attention for his false claims about beheaded babies and rape incidents on October 7, after a tunnel collapsed on him in central Gaza according to the Quds News Network.

The Resistance operation, wherein they detonated a booby-trapped tunnel after luring the Israeli occupation forces into it, left the former IOF commander in a critical condition.

It is important to note that Vach, shortly after Operation Al-Aqsa Flood was launched, had claimed to have personally seen Hamas behead babies and rape women. That narrative he propagated was later debunked by Israeli settlers who survived the deadly Hannibal Directive enacted by the IOF that day, in accordance with which Israeli troops killed their own settlers.

  • Gaza’s polio outbreak will not spare Israelis : Foreign Policy | Al Mayadeen English
    https://english.almayadeen.net/news/health/gaza-s-polio-outbreak-will-not-spare-israelis--foreign-polic

At the beginning of August, Gaza’s Health Ministry declared a polio virus epidemic along the Strip, linked with “Israel’s” ongoing genocide. Essentially, the spread of the disease is more susceptible due to the destruction of healthcare and public health infrastructure by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF).

In a recent analysis report, Foreign Policy stated that the poliovirus outbreak will not only affect Gazans but will also extend to infecting hundreds of thousands of Israelis.

The polio virus is a life-threatening disease characterized by the paralysis of limbs and, in some cases, lungs. Polio is an incurable, contagious disease that enables a single individual to infect several hundreds of others simultaneously through silent transmission.

Although the disease has dissipated in developed countries, it poses a risk for the Israeli regime due to its ultra-Orthodox, or Haredim, population that is generally opposed to vaccinations, leaving around 175,000 children vulnerable to the illness.

The Haredim make up 17% of Israeli Jews and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu needs their support to maintain his power. Essentially, his government has exempted the group from immunization programs against various vaccine-preventable ailments and viruses, including polio, COVID-19, and influenza, despite their threat to domestic and global health.

Vaccination exemptions and Netanyahu’s refusal to implement a permanent ceasefire to end the occupation’s ongoing aggression in Gaza have put “Israel” at risk of contracting polio.
Issues with the three-day humanitarian pause, vaccination campaigns

The Israeli occupation (IOF) and Palestinian Resistance movement Hamas have agreed to three separate, localized three-day ceasefires in the Gaza Strip to enable the immunization of around 640,000 children against polio, WHO official Rik Peeperkorn announced on Thursday.

Despite the temporary halt on Israeli aggression to carry out vaccination campaigns, Foreign Policy stated that it is unlikely parents would risk bringing their children to the designated vaccination sites while the occupation continues to carry out its genocide in other areas in Gaza. Additionally, the aggression prevents healthcare workers in Gaza’s displaced population from obtaining the necessary vaccinations to combat the outbreak.

Shortly after the detection of the poliovirus in Gaza’s sewers, the Israeli government launched a vaccination campaign for IOF soldiers returning from the Strip. However, despite these optional shots protecting some soldiers from contracting the virus, this did not prevent them from spreading the disease in “Israel,” turning them into carriers of the deadly, contagious disease.

Foreign Policy speculated that a potential polio outbreak in “Israel” may provide Netanyahu with a strong incentive to establish prolonged humanitarian pauses to carry out mass vaccination initiatives that may lead to a permanent ceasefire.

    • The Israeli occupation (IOF) and Palestinian Resistance movement Hamas have agreed to three separate, localized three-day ceasefires in the Gaza Strip to enable the immunization of around 640,000 children against polio, WHO official Rik Peeperkorn announced on Thursday.

The Israeli government has committed to financing the storming of the al-Aqsa Mosque by illegal Israeli settlers, according to Israeli media reports on Monday, marking an inflammatory first for the Israeli regime.

Israeli public broadcaster KAN11 revealed that the office of “Heritage” Minister Amichai Eliyahu, an extremist known for his anti-Palestinian stance, will allocate 2 million NIS (approximately $545,000) for this controversial project slated for implementation in the coming weeks.

KAN11 further reported that the “Heritage” Ministry has been in contact with the Police Ministry, led by the far-right Itamar Ben-Gvir, to secure the necessary permissions from Israeli police for the settlers’ funded incursions into al-Aqsa.

The Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) reported that the Israeli occupation has escalated its practice of withholding the bodies of Palestinian martyrs since launching its genocidal campaign against the Palestinian people on October 7, 2023.

In a statement marking the Palestinian National Day for the Recovery of Palestinian and Other Arab War Victims’ Bodies and the Disclosure of the Fate of the Missing, observed on August 27, the PPS revealed that “Israel” has withheld 149 bodies over the past 11 months, excluding the bodies of the martyrs from the Gaza Strip.

It also emphasized that the current number of withheld bodies “represents more than half of those withheld since 2015.”

The PPS estimated that the number of martyrs’ bodies from Gaza being held by “Israel” is in the hundreds, though the Israeli occupation entity has yet to release official figures.

The Israeli occupation military returned the bodies of 89 Palestinian martyrs it abducted amid the ongoing war on the Gaza Strip, confirmed the Gaza Government Media Office on Monday, emphasizing that the occupation forces delivered the remains of the martyrs as skeletons and decomposed bodies.

In a statement, the Media Office explained that the occupation delivered the bodies of these martyrs in only 35 shrouds, with 13 bodies placed in one shroud, 22 bodies in another, and the remaining martyrs’ remains scattered in several other shrouds.

According to the statement, the Israeli occupation forces, throughout 304 days of the genocide, abducted more than 2,000 bodies of martyrs and deceased Palestinians from dozens of cemeteries in the Gaza Strip provinces, which they bulldozed and destroyed with military machinery.

Civil Defense Director Yamen Abu Suleiman told AFP that Israeli occupation authorities did not provide any information about the bodies, including their names or where they were found or taken from.

“We do not know if they are martyrs (killed in Gaza) or prisoners from (Israel’s) jails”, he added.

The Media Office recalled that the Israeli occupation repeated this crime multiple times during the genocide, including previously exhuming graves in Khan Younis, Jabalia, and the al-Tuffah neighborhood, and abducting some martyrs’ bodies.

  • Foreign Policy: ’Israel’s’ existential fears exacerbate its aggression | Al Mayadeen English
    https://english.almayadeen.net/news/Arts&Culture/foreign-policy---israel-s--existential-fears-exacerbate-its

    Résumé utile.

“Israel”, as it always has taken an aggressive military stance towards its enemies, has become more lethal in the last ten months, according to the American journal Foreign Policy, which argues that the reasons for this go beyond what “Israel’s” harshest critics say in terms of destroying the last vestiges of Palestinian nationalism and committing genocide against the Palestinians, emphasizing that the real explanation for this increased aggression is more complex.

Foreign Policy pointed out that the Israeli occupation felt that their existence was no longer at risk after 1967, and this developed with the involvement of Arab countries in the project of normalization and recognition of the existence of “Israel”, and was accompanied by economic growth and increased foreign investment.

One of the practical effects of this view, according to Foreign Policy, was the decrease in defense spending in the early 1990s, and “Israel’s” abandonment of the first of the three pillars of its “defense” strategy, “victory in war,” allowing the second pillar, “deterrence,” to erode, and its excessive reliance on the third pillar alone, “intelligence.”

The journal recognized that “Israel’s” wars with unconventional forces have never ended in a decisive victory, since the 1980s. That said, its ability to deter its enemies has diminished, as evidenced by Hamas’s willingness to fight a repeated war against “Israel” since 2008, and instead of decisive victory and effective deterrence, “Israel” has become increasingly reliant on “defensive measures” such as walls, fences, and high-tech early warning systems.

“Israel” paid a heavy price for these policies on October 7, 2023, as Iran and its allies realized the magnitude of the occupation’s failure, both intelligenceally and organizationally.

The journal explained this trajectory, starting with Hezbollah launching attacks across the northern border just one day after Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, and the firing of Yemeni missiles and drones at shipping vessels in the Red Sea and at “Israel” itself, until last April when Iran for the first time launched a direct attack with missiles and drones against “Israel”.

The journal argued that the “total victory” promised by Israeli occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is unlikely to be achieved at all against Hamas, let alone Hezbollah or Iran, pointing out that restoring “Israel’s” ability to deter is a more realistic goal, but it is not a pain-free goal either, in the face of organizations that are ideologically committed to eliminating Israel from existence, it is not enough to “demonstrate effective defensive capabilities.”

Moreover, Foreign Policy revealed that “Israel’s” recent actions are dangerous and disproportionate for policymakers and public opinion in the United States and Europe, who cannot deny that it risks igniting a regional war, but they realize that it does not have very good options.

The journal recalled that “Israel” is small “in terms of population, geography, and economy, and cannot afford to be surprised, fight long wars, or maintain a tight defensive posture indefinitely,” noting that it is fully aware that “for every new friend it has in the region, it has a stubborn enemy.”

The journal further indicated that the psychological impact of the October 7 operation was profound for Israeli settlers and a tangible reminder that the threat to “Israel’s” existence is not just empty talk by its enemies and the consequences of a brief moment of failure to secure the border were dire.

Months of bombarding the North with Hezbollah rockets, drones, and anti-tank missiles, in addition to Iranian missile strikes, gave the Israeli occupation an idea of “how the end might come,” Foreign Policy added.

In response, Israeli police ordered an investigation into Sheikh Sabri.

Israeli media reported on Friday that the head of the Prisoners of War and Missing Persons Center, Nitzan Alon, and Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar “do not intend to travel to Qatar next week” to discuss the Gaza ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement.

The military affairs commentator for Israeli Channel 12, Nir Dvori, said that both senior officials believe that “traveling is pointless” because Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “wants to introduce changes to the deal that Hamas will not accept. Therefore, only Mossad chief Yossi Cohen will travel.”

Sources told Reuters that the occupation entity is seeking to introduce modifications that would complicate the negotiations. These modifications involve inspecting forcibly displaced people as they return to northern areas and controlling the border with Egypt (Philadelphia Axis), among other issues.

Furthermore, citing sources familiar with the negotiations, Dvori said: “We are losing momentum. The opportunity for the deal is passing. Netanyahu is acting as if he has abandoned the hostages. We are on the way to missing the deal.”

The Israeli security and military establishments believe that if a deal to return the captives is not reached now, it “will lead to the outbreak of war in the north at a time that is not suitable for Israel,” he continued.

  • Terrified by Hamas red triangle, German House votes on banning symbol | Al Mayadeen English

    On atteint des sommets !

Germany’s House of Representatives voted in favor of banning the use of the red inverted triangle used by the al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’ military wing, in its videos, the ASB Zeitung news website reported on Thursday.

The Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and the Social Democratic Party (SPD) had filed an urgent motion to impose a ban on the triangle used by Hamas as a symbol to mark their targets, which secured a majority in the German parliament’s plenary session.

Burkard Dregger, spokesperson for the CDU faction’s interior policy, stated that the goal is to have the Berlin Administrative Office prohibit the use of the symbol.

“Secondly, the federal government should extend the Hamas ban to include the prohibition of the Hamas triangle,” Dregger added.

Martin Matz from the SPD said that Hamas uses the symbol to mark people as targets, claiming that the prohibition of the triangle’s use is justified for good reasons. However, he failed to mention that the targets displayed in the Palestinian Resistance group’s videos only include Israeli soldiers and military personnel and vehicles.

    • En réaction au touit de Ben Gvir :
      https://x.com/itamarbengvir/status/1808031178277925263

Israeli Police Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir confirmed Tuesday’s reports of the atrocious conditions being faced by Palestinian prisoners and defended the legitimacy of such measures. He emphasized that these steps were part of his campaign promises and aimed at minimizing the rights of Palestinians detained over alleged “terrorism” charges to the bare minimum allowed by law.

“Since assuming my role as [Police] Minister, one of my top priorities has been to worsen the conditions for terrorists in prisons and reduce their rights to the minimum required by law,” Ben-Gvir said. “This was a commitment I made to my voters and the people of Israel during the elections when I announced my intention to take on this role.”

Over the past year, before the outbreak of the war on Gaza, Ben-Gvir claimed to have led a fierce battle to make the conditions even stricter for Palestinian prisoners and inflict more terror upon them

Following the outbreak of the war, Ben-Gvir declared success in implementing his desired sadistic changes. “The conditions for terrorists in prison were reduced to a minimum: we stopped financial deposits, canceled the canteens, removed electrical appliances from the cells, ended yard times for terrorists, drastically reduced their time in the showers, revoked the spokesperson status,” and made dire restrictions to their diet, he said.
      Overcrowded? Not Ben-Gvir’s problem

Additionally, Ben-Gvir addressed the current overcrowding in prisons due to the detention of wanted Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza. He mentioned a specific military camp, Sde Teiman, where many detainees were held under harsh conditions.

As a matter of fact, two Palestinian detainees taken from Gaza to the Sde Teiman detention facility in occupied Palestine were beaten to death by the IOF, according to what two sources told the Israeli newspaper Haaretz.

The two Palestinians were abducted by IOF troops in March from Khan Younis using the pretext that they were suspected members of the Palestinian Resistance. When they were taken, they were still alive, and the IOF strapped them and put them in a truck.

However, when they arrived at Sde Teiman, a temporary IOF detention facility near Be’er Shevam, they were already dead.

The IOF troops, unharmed, claimed that the two Palestinians possibly died due to the “extremely bumpy ride over rough terrain,” however, the investigation’s conclusions contradict these claims.

In an interview on Monday to Israel’s Army Radio, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir gave his solution to the problem of prison overcrowding that prompted the release: “If they had listened to me about the ’death penalty for terrorists’ law, we would have killed them, and there would be more room in prisons.” Yes, he really said this – in a conversation about detainees.

  • Undetected, Hezbollah Hoopoe mission exposes sensitive Israeli sites

Hezbollah publishes a nine-minute video showing its drones flying in occupied Palestinian airspace over sensitive Israeli infrastructure.

    https://english.almayadeen.net/news/politics/undetected--hezbollah-hoopoe-mission-exposes-sensitive-israe

The Military Media of the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon - Hezbollah released Tuesday footage showing its reconnaissance drones flying over swathes of occupied Palestinian land, including Kiryat Shmona, Nahariya, Safad, Karmiel, Afula, all the way to Haifa and its port.

Titled “This is what the Hoopoe came back with,” the nine-minute-and-a-half video captured footage and exposed sensitive Israeli sites. Hezbollah indicated that the video was only the first episode of more yet to come, highlighting that the drones bypassed Israeli air defenses and returned to Lebanese airspace undetected.

The published footage included intelligence about Israeli sites inside occupied Palestine and clearly showed that the drone arrived at the port of Haifa intact. Hezbollah’s drones brought back footage and information about sensitive sites they captured over Haifa starting with the port itself to oil refineries and military factories, not to mention the locations of military battleships and important economic hubs in the port.
