In the morning, at Scegarab refugee camp in Sudan, according to the testimonies we collected up to now, there was grave violation of the rights of refugees and « a massacre » of refugees who were demanding more protection against traffickers who seize persons to « sell » them in the Sinai.

Around 300 refugees were demonstrating close to the offices of UNHCR, asking for more protection. Witnesses said that police attempts to disperse the group. Refugees opposed resistance : in response, the Sudanese military fired tear gas and live ammunition, killing twenty people, injuring seriously many others.

There is some indication of cooperation between the police in the Sudanese refugee camp, and the traffickers who come to seize people.
