Russian envoy: we support Hariri tribunal #TSL

Russia supports the Special Tribunal for Lebanon and considers it a mechanism for international legitimacy, Russia’s ambassador to Lebanon said Saturday.
“Russia always stands in support of implementing all United Nations resolutions that are related to Lebanon including the international tribunal which Russia has supported and financed and still does, since it is a mechanism for international legitimacy,” Alexander Zasypkin told reporters after meeting with Future Movement MP Fouad Siniora.
Zasypkin’s remarks come after a Hezbollah delegation, comprised of three MPS, returned Saturday morning from their trip to Moscow where the two sides discussed regional developments and the situation in Lebanon.
While in Moscow, the Hezbollah delegation emphasized the significance of joint cooperation in a bid to maintain the region’s stability and prevent ongoing foreign intervention. Both Russia and Hezbollah have rejected foreign interference to end the unrest in Syria.
However, Russia’s vocal support for the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, is at odds with Hezbollah’s view of the court.
