State Bureau of Investigations of #Ukraine has charged Tetiana Chornovol with arson of Party of Regions office & killing of computer technician there during Maidan massacre on February 18, 2014. She confirmed today her involvement in this arson. [arson attack = incendie criminel]
The office computer technician who died during the arson attack was the first victim of the #Maidan massacre in #Ukraine. But until February 2020, the Prosecutor General Office of Ukraine investigated his death as a result of a fire and not an arson attack.
And NYT called Chornovol “a journalist, activist and crusader against public graft” few days after Maidan massacre. I doubt that @nytimes would report that she is charged with intentional murder of computer technician, who was first victim of the massacre.
“Ex-Ukrainian MP Chornovol served with charge papers on intentional homicide. If Chornovol is found guilty, she faces from 10 to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment.”
“The former lawmaker is suspected of the crime of deliberately killing another person, committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons in a manner dangerous to the lives of many people (sub-paragraphs 5, 12 of Part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).”
“...on February 18, 2014, the suspect led the actions of a group of persons and directly participated in an arson attack on a building on Lypska Street in downtown Kyiv, where the office of one of the political parties was located. The criminal case was opened on March 25, 2020”
And @ForeignPolicy named Chornovol in 2014 after Maidan as one of leading “global thinkers” in spite of evidence of her involvement in the deadly arson attack, far right background, and misrepresentation as victim of political attack during Maidan in #Ukraine.
Wow. Looks like Ukraine may be about to finally deal with the 2014 Maidan Massacre. Former MP Tatyana Chernovol, one of the leaders of the Western-backed ’EuroMaidan’ movement, who was strongly boosted by US/UK media, has been charged with murder & arson in Kiev.
For 6 years now, US/UK media has continued to blame forces loyal to ousted President Viktor Yanukovich for the killings, completely ignoring compelling evidence that they were actually carried out by Western-backed activists. @nytimes among those who lauded Chernoval
For instance, after her husband Nikolai Berezovy was killed fighting for the Neo-Nazi Azov batallion in 2014, Mashable’s @christopherjm (subsequently of US state media @rferl) labelled her a “Kiev Revolution Hero.” Will be interesting to see how US/UK media spins it now.
