Israel has launched an extensive series of airstrikes on Iran.
The western media are of course unquestioningly regurgitating the Israeli government’s evidence-free claim that these strikes were “preemptive”.
The Trump regime is attempting to spin this as a completely unilateral Israeli attack which had nothing to do with the United States — a claim you could be forgiven for believing if you were born yesterday.
Here’s a list of future headlines we can expect from The New York Times:
– Iranian strikes rock Israel in unprovoked attack.
– Israeli families take shelter amid antisemitic terror bombing.
– Israeli defense minister: U.S. campus protesters somehow knew about Iranian strikes in advance, indicating Tehran coordination.
– Trump privately voices frustration with #Netanyahu over Iran conflict the U.S. is just passively, innocently witnessing.
– American Jews feeling anxious, unsupported amid spiraling wars in the #MiddleEast.
– Opinion: I feared for my life during airstrikes on Tel Aviv. Nobody in the world can possibly understand what this is like.
– Opinion: Is the U.S. at risk of being drawn into another Middle Eastern war?
– Opinion: Is the U.S. stumbling into another Middle Eastern war?
– Opinion: Is the U.S. accidentally oopsie poopsie bungling into another Middle Eastern war?
– Opinion: Is the U.S. being dragged kicking and screaming into a war in the Middle East, something it historically tries to avoid at all cost?
– US launches strikes on Iran in preemptive attack.
– Opinion: Is the U.S. being sucked into a third world war?
– Opinion: Is the U.S. tumbling headlong into a nuclear exchange with Russia and China?
– Opinion: The sky is darkening as nuclear radiation creeps across our land, so we must all come together and condemn Hamas.
– Opinion: The earth is a barren wasteland. Nothing remains. Check on your Jewish friends.
Preventively!

oAnth: It is now common practice to kill scientists preventively from your opponents? - Preventively! - International conventions and the laws of war? No obstacle for the Israelis, they have already done it several times with Syrian and Iranian nuclear specialists during the last decades - but of course without being blamed for their atrocities by the international community.
What a nightmare in times of drones and digitalized surveillance!
Ukraine has only recently shown us what modern terrorism looks like, whether by states or informal agents.

Israel: EU Parliament official focused on Palestine denied entry
| Israel-Palestine conflict News | Al Jazeera
▻https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2022/5/22/israel-denies-entry-to-eu-parliament-delegations-chair
A European Parliament delegation has been forced to cancel a trip to the occupied Palestinian territories after the group’s chairperson, Manu Pineda, was denied entry to Israel.
The Spanish member of the European Parliament and chair of the parliament’s delegation for relations with Palestine was scheduled to travel to the occupied Palestinian territories with a group of European lawmakers to review the situation on the ground after the killing of Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh.
Abu Akleh was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers while reporting on an Israeli military raid in Jenin in the occupied West Bank.
“Israel is blocking the work of the European Parliament,” Pineda said on Sunday, as he shared a decision from the Israeli Foreign Ministry denying him entry to the country, adding that the delegation had also been denied access to the besieged Gaza Strip.

The letter from the foreign ministry said Pineda’s entry was not approved due to “information received from the competent authorities in Israel”.
Fellow delegation member Grace O’Sullivan said the decision by Israel “was an unprecedented move” and that the group would be calling for a strong response from European Parliament President Roberta Metsola.
Metsola, who is also visiting Israel and Palestine, said on Twitter that she regretted the decision and would “raise the issue directly with the authorities concerned”.
The European Parliament’s delegation for relations with Palestine has 18 members and informs the European Union legislature about political, economic and human rights developments in the territory.
The delegation to Palestine also reviews projects funded with EU aid such as schools and shelters, as well as maintaining relations with political and civil leaders.
I regret the decision to refuse entry to Israel to @ManuPineda, the Chair of the @Europarl_EN Delegation for relations with Palestine.
I will raise the issue directly with authorities concerned.
Respect for MEPs and the European Parliament is essential for good relations.

L’aventurisme militaire français au Moyen-Orient | Middle East Eye
▻http://www.middleeasteye.net/fr/opinions/l-aventurisme-militaire-fran-ais-au-moyen-orient-1487384179
